The new season is looking good. After the major shortages last season the production for the upcoming season is promising. From December/January onward the shea butter from the new season will replenish our stocks again.
Next season the price of shea butter will be higher than in previous years. This is of course partly because inventories need to be replenished everywhere, but mainly because the TCDA in Ghana (Tree Crops Development Authority) has set a minimum price for a kilogram of shea nuts as of July 2025.
This is of course good news for all the women who produce our shea butter!
The neighbouring countries of Ghana do not (yet) have a minimum price for the nuts. We hope this will not lead to tensions.
